The Standard First Aid and CPR C Recertification course offered by ACT First Aid is designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to renew their certification in accordance with WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) regulations. This course is taught by experienced instructors and is an approved affiliate of the Life Saving Society of Ontario and Code 8 EMS, ensuring that participants receive high-quality training that meets industry standards.
The Standard First Aid and CPR C Recertification course is a one-day program, totaling approximately 8 hours of instruction. The course is specifically structured to review and refresh participants' knowledge and skills in first aid techniques and CPR procedures.
The course curriculum covers key topics from the Standard First Aid and CPR C course, with a focus on updates and reviewing essential skills, including:
1. CPR and AED:
- Adult, child, and infant CPR techniques
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
2. First Aid Skills:
- Primary assessment and emergency action steps
- Choking (conscious and unconscious victims)
- Bleeding control and wound care
- Sprains, strains, and fractures
- Medical emergencies such as seizures and allergic reactions
3. Updated Guidelines and Techniques:
- Review of any changes or updates to first aid protocols
- Updates on latest emergency response strategies
Upon successful completion of the Standard First Aid and CPR C Recertification course, participants will receive a recertification that is valid for three years. This recertification is recognized by employers, WSIB, and other regulatory bodies.
The course incorporates a combination of theory review and hands-on refresher training. Participants will engage in discussions, review case scenarios, and practice essential skills to reinforce their knowledge and confidence in responding to emergencies.
