The Emergency First Aid with CPR B course provided by ACT First Aid is designed to equip individuals with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. This course is taught in accordance with WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) regulations and is an approved affiliate of the Life Saving Society of Ontario and Code 8 EMS, ensuring that participants receive quality training that aligns with industry standards.
The Emergency First Aid with CPR B course is a one-day program, comprising approximately 8 hours of instruction. The course is specifically structured to provide participants with a foundation in emergency first aid techniques and CPR procedures.
The course curriculum covers a range of topics, including but not limited to:
1. First Aid Skills:
- Primary assessment and emergency action steps
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults, children, and infants
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
2. Airway and Breathing Emergencies:
- Choking (conscious and unconscious victims)
- Asthma and allergic reactions
- Hyperventilation and respiratory distress
3. Cardiovascular Emergencies:
- Chest pain
- Heart attack/Angina
4. Musculoskeletal Injuries:
- Sprains and strains
5. Medical Emergencies:
- Allergic reactions
Upon successful completion of the Emergency First Aid with CPR B course, participants will receive certification that is valid for three years. This certification is recognized by employers, WSIB, and other regulatory bodies.
